January 2012 - Happy New Year for 2012 to all Bolton Hot Wheels Cycling Club
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year and hopefully some shiny new bike bits also?
For those who wish to race this year please ensure that you renew your British Cycling membership. If you have never been a member before your first year is FREE! This includes the basic racing license and third party insurance.
Also don’t forget your Bolton Hot Wheels CC membership. If you’re not sure when your renewal is then contact Stephen Woods. This important for insurance purposes when attending club coaching sessions.
Some dates for your calendar and don’t forget to check out our club calendar which is constantly updated with selected events for both youths and seniors alike. You can print it out and stick it on your fridge…
· Walk and Ride dates - 21st Jan, 25th Feb 10am both in Rivington
· Saturday coaching sessions begin Sat 31st March 10am
· Go Ride Velodrome session 5th Feb 12-3pm Contact Alan Stubbs (places are limited)
· CDNW Youth races are now open for entries with the first race on Sat 10th March
Our senior section had a busy 2011 and have now released the calendar for 2012 with an activity almost every weekend. With regular numbers now reaching 15+ per week for Sunday rides thanks to Rod and Janet for their efforts.
Wednesday night Turbo Sessions are continuing into March for those who would like to shed some Christmas excess. They are held at Bolton Arena starting at 7pm ad are for ages 12+. Contact Alan Stubbs for more details.
Don’t forget to purchase your Bolton Hot Wheels Club clothing for the new season and is available from Geoff Smith Cycles in Bolton.
Some of our youth racers have been busy over the past few months competing in Hill Climb and Cyclo Cross races with some great results.
