Red - Novice - no experience or maybe one or two previous goes
Amber - Previous experience, reasonably confident
Green - Experienced, maybe track league or planning it

Minimum age is 10 years

A first come first served basis will be operated as we may potentially have many more than 14 riders interested

Please submit names, classification and bike sizes Alan Stubbs as soon as possible.

Beanies (up to 8 years old):
If you feel your child is able to ride a suitable bike either with or without training wheels then they would be considered able to join in coaching activities. Many children have managed to shed their training wheels during their time at Bolton Hot Wheels. Coaching activities take place on a soft flat running track surface which is an ideal safe place to learn to cycle.

Youth Coaching (8-16 years old):
Riders in this age group can experience a range of cycling disciplines such as mountain biking, road cycling, track cycling, cycle speedway, cyclocross. Racing is not compulsory but is a fun way to enjoy the sport and a personal challenge. We now have around 12 regular road race youth cyclists (spring 2011) and others who enter cyclocross, time trials and hill climbs.

Regional School Racing:
For those children who show an interest and talent in racing they have a chance of being nominated to participate in British Cycling 'Regional School of Racing'. These RSR's involve British Cycling Talent Team coaches who hold regular racing workshops to teach skills and training.

Seniors:
Regular Sunday rides are organised for those who prefer a leisurely non competitive form of cycling. Taking in the local quiet country lanes of Lancashire, Cheshire and West Yorkshire. Rides vary from 20 miles upward and will always allow sampling of local fare at favourite café stops. Novices and experienced riders are most welcome.

Manchester Velodrome:
Coaching sessions also take place at Manchester Velodrome on the track. These sessions are held every so often (check the calendar) and are coached by either coaches from Bolton Hot Wheels, or professionally qualified coaches from Manchester Velodrome. Track bikes are available to hire whilst there, as is other equipment such as helmets.

Bolton Arena Turbo Sessions:
Alan and Colin ran a successful series of turbo / torture session over the winter months at Bolton Arena
