Who? Established in 2007 independently from our Parent Club, Bolton Hot Wheels Cycling Club officially launched by The Rt Hon Ruth Kelly MP has gone from strength to strength. While working in partnership with Bolton Arena, Bolton Council and British Cycling. Bolton Hot Wheels CC achieved Clubmark accreditation in March 2008 Coaching activity’s are provided for ages 5 – 16 years, also with activities are provided for sibling’s of older participants from the age of 3. What? ‘Hot Wheels’ has established regular structured quality coaching sessions using the Athletics’ Track at Bolton Arena to ensure activities take place in a safe environment. Coaching Session are taken by Checked, Insured and British Cycling Qualified Volunteer Coaches. The Club also have a dedicated Club Welfare Officer and Parental Representative. All volunteers are subject to checks and attend relevant training. Periodically the club hold Family Walks and Ride’s in places such as Rivington, Haigh Hall and Tatton Park. Why? There are several cycling clubs in and around the Bolton area, several of whom have found it difficult to recruit young members. This is due to several reason’s, such as the lack of coaching activities taking place in safe environment. Several Coaches from different club’s in Bolton got together to set up Bolton Hot Wheels CC and the club has gone from strength to strength ever since with over 125 members in 2007. Where? Coaching Activities take place on the Athletics track at Bolton Arena, Arena Approach, Burnden Way, Horwich, Bolton, BL6 6LB When? Coaching sessions take place every Saturday (April to November) with sessions from 2008 taking place between 10am and 12noon.
